StolenTime is the only hotel on Malabar Beach. What this means for you is that you have two miles of soft sand beach for StolenTime guests.
The famous Castries craft markets and the Pointe Seraphine ‘ Duty-Free’ shopping complex are within easy reach and walking distance. Shopping made easy!
Saint Lucia has some memorable boat trips on offer. Dolphin and Whale Watching, excursions to the Pitons and the Chocolate (Cocoa) plantations, the ‘walk-in’ Volcano, Sulphur Springs and Botanical Gardens and Waterfalls. These trips depart from the harbour in Castries only minutes from StolenTime.
From the early days of Malabar Beach Hotel, to Couples, then Rendezvous and now StolenTime, the wondrous Gardens have always been a highlight. The Barnard family have a rich history of horticulture and landscaping and the island has been most fortunate to have had some extraordinary talents in landscaping architecture amongst its citizens. One such talent is the evergreen Veronica Shingleton-Smith. She was tasked back in the day with creating an extraordinary garden at StolenTime. Lovingly tended ever since, you can see the results.
Take a good look around and you will wonder at the scale of some of it. Most notable, naturally is the giant Saman tree by the entrance to the reception area. It’s lit with candles at night and must be one of the most photographed trees anywhere! We’ll leave you to guess how many proposals of marriage there have been made under that tree over the years.
As part of our culture of rest and respite, you can find a number of hammocks littered through these lovely gardens. Get to one armed with a book, listen to the birdsong, feel the sea breeze and transport yourself to another world.
We have a “secret garden” at StolenTime. It’s one of the many things about this boutique resort that continues to delight and surprise guests who choose to “steal time” here together at our Caribbean hideaway. There are nooks and crannies hidden away, lush gardens and gentle sounds of the water lapping the pools and channels.
We call it our ‘Water Garden’, not surprisingly. We hope you come and enjoy it and the beautiful “garden-by-the-sea” that is StolenTime. How do you find it? Walk through the gardens and look for some half-hidden gaps that reveal the secret.
Your own island oasis, StolenTime sits on stunning Malabar beach, where you will find secluded seaside cabanas stretched out along the sand. With a two- mile stretch of softness, you never feel crowded. Near to the resort, Boardwalks meander through scattered cool sun-beds at which, provided with a flag, you can indicate when you need a cool drink.
Although StolenTime is situated on the edge of the warm Caribbean Sea, we know that sometimes you may fancy a dip in a pool. So, as well as the lap pool and the free-form pool with a swim-up bar, guess what? We have created a Lazy river. Meandering looping through the top end of the resort, it creates isolated pools and tiny secluded islands.
These little niches are perfect retreats for to to steal away and find yourselves a day bed. Then dip your toes in the cool water, order a drink from the ‘water waiters’, finish your book and wile away your time. No one will disturb your tranquility, but the water waiter will pop by from time to time to get you a fresh drink.
If you’re up for an actual swim, then we have two lovely pools to choose from. By the Spa in the Water Garden, the lap pool is calm and quiet. It is restful and guests drop in to cool off. Down by the sea, you will discover a pool with a swimup bar. This pool and bar are sociable, with people gathering to swim and talk and have a chat over a cocktail or beer. Friendships are made and stories told.
The Spa in the Water Garden holds your restorative possibilities, including beauty treatments, body wraps and a menu of therapeutic cares. The Spa has one of only two Ayurvedic centers in Saint Lucia. Guests can experience the result of hundreds of years of knowledge and spirituality originating from Kerala in India.
Peaceful and undisturbed for those who prefer it, StolenTime is also an island playground. With a PADI Scuba Centre, a host of water sports, a state-of-the- art gym, fitness classes, hiking, tennis, golf and more, there’s a long list of solo, couples and group activities to explore.
