Global Wellness Day at StolenTime

To inspire others, especially the younger generation. Every year, Global Wellness Day is celebrated on the second Saturday of June to promote healthier choices that will positively impact persons not only for the day but the rest of their lives.

“How can I live healthier and improve my life?” is the main question for the day as persons are tasked to take time to reflect and contribute in different ways.

Ultimately, the expectant end result is for persons to :

● Understand the importance of their life
● Focus on what’s important and truly priceless
● Get rid of stress caused by negative habits
● Self acceptance
● To inspire and educate others about living healthily, not just on this day, but all 365 days of the year.

In full support of this day, StolenTime by Rendezvous will be presenting a unique offering to guests for this occasion. Let’s take a look at the breakdown

Sunrise Meditation at 7:00 am
Meditation is a mind-body practice that focuses attention on one’s breath, mind, and spirit in the present to increase awareness, promote well-being, and reduce stress and anxiety. It comes in many forms and can be practised almost anywhere, especially on a beautiful beachfront.
Thanks to its many psychological and physical benefits, guests can expect an overall improvement in their quality of life.

Lower Stress Levels
Mindfulness-based practices, such as meditation, are beneficial for the development of brain health in particular with regard to stress. When faced with difficult or stressful moments, our bodies produce cortisol. Cortisol is the steroid hormone that regulates stress and responds to natural fight or flight responses, among other functions.

Anxiety Management
Meditation helps counteract the effects of anxiety (often referred to as overwhelming feelings of fear, worry, and tension) by controlling thoughts, regulating breathing, and calming the nervous system.

Regulates Mood
After learning the basics from this class and practising over time, meditation can change a person’s emotional response to situations. Elements of meditation, such as mindfulness and breath control in general, help reduce impulsive reactions. This means that people who meditate regularly may gain the ability to better regulate their moods, rather than reacting out of heightened emotions such as anger or panic.

Bicycle tour to Point Seraphine at 7:15 a.m.
Cycling is a low-impact aerobic exercise with many benefits. It also varies in intensity, making it suitable for all levels. Cycling can be used as a means of transportation or as a recreational activity but at this wellness resort, it is a bit of both!

How about a little shop and ride tour? Set out through Pointe Seraphine and bargain for a few souvenirs with the local vendors.

Walk through the Castries Market at 8:15 a.m.
The Castries Market has been the capital city’s local fresh food and flea market for the last century. Open every day except for Sunday, locals gather to sell homegrown produce and spices as well as St. Lucia-stamped souvenirs for everyone!

BodyStretch at 9:15 a.m.
The benefits of stretching are huge. Our bodies are made up of muscles and ligaments that are designed to be moved
daily, but overuse will cause injuries and no movement or very little could mean stiff joints, less flexibility or bad posture.

By now, you would’ve realised BodyStretch class at StolenTime is not one to miss out on as the day would be
followed by more energising activities. After BodyStrecth, guests can expect:

Calm Mind
Stretching regularly will not only increase your flexibility, but it will also calm your mind. As you stretch, focus on mindfulness and meditation practices that give your mind a mental break.

Helps to heal and prevent back pain
Range of motion may be restricted when muscles are tense. When this happens, the back muscles are likely to be overloaded. Stretching lengthens muscles to help heal existing back injuries.

Is Great for Stress Relief
Again, when stressed, our muscles may become tight. That’s because muscles tend to stiffen in response to physical and mental stress but stretching places focus on areas of our body i.e. Neck, shoulders and upper back to release tension.

Pilates Foundation at 10:00 a.m.
Pilates Foundation (or Pilates Method) is a set of exercises inspired by callisthenics, yoga and ballet. Pilates also focuses on the core muscles, promoting a balance of flexibility and strength in all of the body’s major muscle groups. Improves posture, flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness.
Even though the main focus of Pilates is on developing your core strength, it can also help you train your entire body. This ensures that certain muscles are not over- o underdeveloped and you can get the perfect lean physique you’re looking for.Did you know that 10 minutes of Pilates can significantly strengthen your muscles and improve your flexibility?

Perfect for those looking for a quick and effective full-body workout.A circuit typically consists of 8-10 exercises, but this depends on the course goals. After completing all exercises, guests get to rest for 1-2 minutes and repeat the exercises. Most rounds are completed in 1-3 attempts.
