Volleyball World Champion – Sarah Pavan
Early Days
Sarah Pavan is a Canadian professional volleyball player. She grew up in Kitchener, Ontario, and started representing Canada internationally in 2001. She went to college at the University of Nebraska, where her team won the 2006 NCAA Championship, and she was the 2007 Honda Broderick Cup winner as the NCAA Woman Athlete of the Year. She has been a Volleyball World Champion
Team Canada
She pursued her professional indoor volleyball career while representing Canada internationally overseas for 10 years in Italy, Brazil, South Korea, and China. Overlapping her indoor career, in 2013, Sarah left the Canadian indoor program to pursue the Olympic Games through beach volleyball. She attended the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, earning 5th place finishes at both.
Sarah is also a two-time Commonwealth Games Champion and World Champion. She and her former partner were named 2019’s Team of the Year for international beach volleyball, and Sarah has been named the World’s Best Blocker 3 times.
When she is not training, Sarah volunteers for non-profit organizations and coaches and mentors the next generation of Olympians.

Can you share a memorable moment or highlight from your time teaching at StolenTime?
Sarah shared that her most memorable occasion was when she encountered a guest with severe knee pain who, despite the discomfort, was determined to attempt her class. Due to her limitation, the guest initially second-guessed her ability to take on the challenge. However, with Sarah’s encouragement, she stepped out of her comfort zone and was thrilled to discover she could do it. For Sarah, witnessing the guest’s success made the experience incredibly fulfilling.
Can you tell us your favourite go-to recipe?
Roasted Grape and Salmon Salad
Ingredients : Grapes / Salmon /Kale /Olive Oil /Charlette Blue Cheese
Methodology: Roast grapes for 20 minutes on low heat in a skillet with oil, then add in all other ingredients.
How has your experience at StolenTime influenced you personally and professionally? Is it possible a Volleyball World Champion can discover new passions or insights?
Hobie Cat sailing and Kayaking. Sarah shared that she loves beach Volleyball and hasn’t dabbled into watersports as much. With our beautiful beach and supportive water sports team, she feels safe trying out this new activity outside her comfort zone.

Ingredients:
Baby spinach / Banana / Almond milk / Chia seeds / Flax seeds / Mixed berries

Place all ingredients into a blender and stop at the required consistency
